Introduction

EarlyDot Tech Private Limited, operating under the brand name LyncScan (“we,” “our,” or “us”), uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and application (the “Service”). This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and your choices regarding their use.

By continuing to use our Service, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy. This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better browsing experience, and supply information to the site owners.

Cookies can be “persistent” (they remain on your device until they expire or you delete them) or “session” cookies (they are deleted when you close your browser). Cookies can also be “first-party” (set by the website you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by a service integrated into the website).

How LyncScan Uses Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar browser-based storage technologies to provide, secure, and improve our Service. Below is a summary of the types of cookies and technologies we use.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They include:

  • Authentication: When you sign in to LyncScan, cookies and browser storage are used to manage your session, verify your identity, and keep you securely signed in across visits.
  • Security: Used to detect fraud, protect against abuse, and enforce our security policies.

Functional Cookies

These enable enhanced functionality and personalisation:

  • User preferences: We remember your settings, such as your selected business and dashboard preferences, so you don't have to reconfigure them each time you visit.
  • Performance: Certain data is cached in your browser to reduce loading times and provide a faster experience.

Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics services to understand how visitors interact with our Service. These cookies help us:

  • Understand which pages are most popular
  • Identify how visitors navigate through the Service
  • Measure the effectiveness of our content
  • Identify and fix usability issues

Analytics data is collected in aggregated or anonymised form and is not used to personally identify you.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our Service are set by trusted third-party providers that help us deliver key functionality. We do not control how these third parties use cookies. These providers include:

Authentication Providers

Our authentication provider may set cookies to manage sign-in sessions, verify user identity, and maintain account security. These cookies are governed by the provider's own privacy and cookie policies.

Google

When you connect your Google Business Profile to LyncScan, Google may set cookies during the authorisation process. These cookies are managed by Google and are subject to Google's Cookie Policy.

Payment Processors

Our payment processors may set cookies during checkout and subscription management to prevent fraud and process transactions securely. These cookies are governed by the respective privacy policies of the payment provider.

Cookies on the Public Review Page

When your customers visit the public review form (via QR code or direct link), LyncScan does not set any cookies or store any data on the customer's device. The review form works without requiring the customer to sign in or accept cookies. Any data the customer submits (such as their rating, feedback, and optional contact details) is sent directly to our servers and is not retained on the customer's device.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several options for managing cookies:

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these settings in the “Options” or “Preferences” menu of your browser. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is being set.

Clearing Browser Data

You can clear cookies and other site data through your browser settings. Note that doing so will sign you out of LyncScan and reset your preferences.

Impact of Disabling Cookies

Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some parts of our Service may not function properly. In particular, disabling cookies required for authentication may prevent you from signing in to your account.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. LyncScan does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we introduce such technologies in the future, we will update this policy to reflect how we respond to DNT signals.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically.
